I fitted a Norvil primary belt drive conversion to a Norton 650ss last week. Once I'd un-seized the gearbox adjuster the conversion was fairly straight forward to fit, what didn't help was the bike being stood for 5 years. Getting it running well enough to check the drive took nearly as long as the job itself!

  1. I got a Bob Newbey belt drive and clutch on my Triumph it's a thing of lovely ness and him and his mrs are dead helpfull . The belt has to be quite loose or the clutch will drag.

    1. This is a nice bit of kit too Rob. That might explain why they give a tolerance of 30-35mm slack in the belt. Seemed like a lot to me!!

    1. Thanks Ed, the clutch felt real light and the gearbox nice too, but I don't know what it was like before!
