When I re-built BD#1 the head gasket needed changing, so while I was in there I decided to hone the bores and fit some new rings. Mistake, the rings never bedded in, it smoked like a 2-stroke! Eventualy I sourced some good first oversize barrels and pistons, and then some original NOS rings, I blasted and blacked the barrels at the same time, result!!

I finally got around to taking a few snaps of benchonkee#1 after it's re-paint, re-spoke, re-build last year. This is where it all began, the bike with more than a nod at what the wrenchmonkees were doing at the time, and the name.......!

A steady day's work and it's almost there! A bit of titivating and we'll be off for an MOT!!

Benchdonkee#1 on it's way back together. Got a fair bit done today. Should be there, or thereabouts tomorrow!!
